Chalwa reggae band is based out of the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina and play a blend of high-energy new school and old school roots reggae. Forming in 2005 Chalwa has released two full-length albums and toured the east coast along with Jamaica. Chalwa has supported: Steel Pulse, SOJA (Soldiers of Jah Army), The Meditations, Bambu Station, Midnite, Groundation, Luciano, Pato Banton, and many more. Recent festivals Chalwa has played include: Bele Chere, French Broad River Festival, Mountain Sports Festival, Swanfest, Durham World Beer Festival, and The Highlands to Island Reggae Festival.
