On Sunday, May 19th, an embarrassing amount of talent will be playing for free (FREE!) at Southern Appalachian Brewery in Hendersonville. The show will run from 5-9p. Really good beer will be available for purchase.
Kicking everything off is Todd Hoke. Todd’s the one who lives in Hendo and has tricked Andy and Kelly into letting him play at SAB once a month once they started hosting music. If you hang out at SAB and don’t know who Todd Hoke is, it ain’t his fault. (Unlike the many many other things that are, in fact, Todd’s fault.) www.toddhoke.com
Next on the bill by way of Nashville, TN, is Linda McRae. “Performing on clawhammer banjo, acoustic guitar, accordion and porchboard stompbox, Linda combines old-time sounds with universal themes of heartbreak & redemption offering an intriguing sepia postcard from the past that is vibrant and alive in the present.” www.lindamcrae.com
And then comes the master of southern gritty grooves, Jefferson Ross. “Based in Savannah, Georgia, where the Spanish moss hangs from ancient oaks like long torn veils, Jefferson employs his unique acoustic guitar style and southern, soulful voice to spin some of the finest story songs to come out of Deep Dixie in a long while.” www.jeffersonross.com
Closing the evening—all the way from Oklahoma City—is the mighty duo Miss Brown To You. “Miss Brown To You can capture you with their subtle ballads, soulful blues, sophisticated bop and swinging classical jazz, and will warm you with their colorful original songs.” (Note: Miss Brown To You is closing the show because no-one wanted to follow them. Fact.) www.missbrowntoyou.com
