Possum Royale* and Southern Appalachian Brewery are proud to present an evening celebrating the singular artistic brilliance of Townes Van Zandt. The first time I saw Townes live he was opening a show for The Cowboy Junkies (the “Trinity Sessions” album, if that means anything to you). One man and his guitar and catalog of songs facing down a big room full of humans. That was probably when I first thought about writing and performing my own stuff, witnessing the power Townes wielded, alone in the spotlight. Anywhom, we are delighted to be presenting an evening of Mr. Van Zandt’s music and we are doubly delighted that the lovely-n-talented Jason Sharp will be joining us for this show. Did you know that 3/7 is Townes’ birthday? It is. Ka. Pow.
*Possum Royale is Richard Brock and also Todd Hoke and they are not sure what Townes song is their favorite but neither one of them have ever had their picture taken with a chicken. Waste a sliver of your ever-dwindling time on Earth at toddhokemusic.com.
