The Island of Misfit Instruments started as an idea by violist/vocalist/composer An-Ya. “Let’s have a gig where all the instruments in the band are the ones that rarely get hired.” The catch? This unique combination of instruments would perform unique arrangements of pop songs. The Island of Misfit Instruments is led by An-Ya (viola/electronics), and also features Justice Mann (trombone) and Jason DeCristofaro (vibes/xylophone).
