Hailed as one of the best players alive today, Kevin Spears’ breathtaking ability on an electric version of the traditional African instrument called kalimba, is often compared to music legends such as Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Bobby McFerrin and Les Paul. Spears’ music is a refreshing mix of folk, world and soul that will move your feet and stir your soul.

Spears has performed internationally including  Tokyo Japan, Frankfurt Germany and Shanghai China and has worked with or opened for artists such as: Victor Wooten, India.Arie, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Col. Bruce Hampton, Toubab Krewe, Rising Appalachia, Count Mbutu of the Derek Trucks Band, Karen Briggs (Yanni), Roy “FutureMan” Wooten,  Sheldon Reynolds guitarist/Earth, Wind and Fire and Divinity (bassist for Beyonce) among many others.
