The Petticoat Government consists of John Owen Brute, Meg Proffitt Heathman and Amanda McGuire. The trio’s love for music began at a young age. John, raised in Mochdre, Wales began writing music and playing guitar while Meg and Amanda were singing in small country churches of WNC.
The trio is an Asheville based band whose journey together began in Fall 2012. Their eclectic sound is inspired by artists from various genres. They desire to convey their love for rich southern culture through their music as they grow in these fertile mountain grounds.
